Idaho <br />Department of <br />Correction <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Policy <br />Control Number: <br />505 <br />Version: <br />2.0 <br />Page Number: <br />1 of 1 <br />Adopted: <br />12-1-1994 <br />Reviewed: <br />02-26-2013 <br /> <br />Title: <br />Inspections: Facilities and Facility Logs <br /> <br />This document was approved by Brent Reinke , director of the Idaho <br />Department of Correction, on 2/26/2013 (signature on file). <br />Open to the public: Yes No <br />BOARD OF CORRECTION IDAPA RULE NUMBER <br />None <br />POLICY STATEMENT <br />It is the policy of the Idaho Board of Correction that the Idaho Department of Correction <br />(IDOC) and its contractors (a) conduct inspections of facilities to maintain safety and <br />security, and (b) keep daily facility logs to document activities, inspections, and incidents . <br />PURPOSE <br />The purpose of this policy is to communicate the Board’s management p hilosophy regarding <br />facility inspections and daily facility logs . <br />SCOPE <br />This policy applies to all procedures created under the authority of this policy and to IDOC <br />facilities, assigned staff, and offenders under the jurisdiction of the IDOC . <br />RESPONSIBILIT Y <br />The director of the IDOC , the chief of the Division of Prison, and chief of the Division of <br />Education, Treatment, and Reentry are responsible for overseeing the development, <br />implementation, and monitoring of standard operating procedures (SOPs) that provide <br />guidance on or establishes , at a minimum, the following: <br />• Administrative, s afety, and security device inspections, to include inspection <br />frequencies ; <br />• Inspection protocols and procedures, to include staff responsibilities ; and <br />• Log and other documentation requirements (e.g., incident notification reports, <br />information reports, and facility operational memorandums). <br />REFERENCES <br />None <br />– End of Document –
