The Idaho <br />Department of Correction (IDOC) is not required to establish or offer breaks. <br />Classified Employee: Any person appointed to or holding a position in any State of Idaho <br />agency, which position is subject to the provisions of the merit examination, selection, <br />retention, promotion, and dismissal requirements of Idaho Code. <br />Compensatory Time (Comp-time): Overtime that is unpaid and become hours that <br />accumulate in an earned leave balance for the employee to take time off work with pay at a <br />later date. <br />Compressed Work Week: The total hours scheduled in a work week that are condensed <br />into fewer days, such as four 10 hour days rather than five 8 hour days. <br />EAP: An Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) timesheet code used to authorize the <br />payment of cash for listed earned administrative leave (EAL). <br />Earned Administrative Leave (EAL): A time code used to reflect hours worked that have <br />not yet met the definition of overtime, yet need to be tracked, accrued or compensated. EAL <br />earned is always hour-for-hour when converted to accruals or when paid in cash. EAL <br />applies to law enforcement (L) coded positions only (e.g., correctional and probation and <br />parole officers). <br />Exempt (Non-covered) Employee: Any employee (classified or non-classified) not entitled <br />to cash compensation for overtime under applicable federal law. This employee earns hour- <br />for-hour when converted to compensatory time (comp-time).
